Recreational Team Sports |
Recreational Team Sports is a one semester course offered during the first semester, meeting 5 times per cycle. Junior and Senior students are elidgeble to register for the course and will earn .5 credits towards their PE graduation requirements. There are no prerequisites for this course. Students will participate in a variety of team sports that are commonly played for recreation. Student interest will be considered when choosing activities.
The overall program goal of the IWA Physical Education program is to assist each student in becoming a "physically educated person." According to the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE), a physically educated person has learned skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities, is physically fit, participates regularly in physical activity, and knows the implications of and benefits from involvement in physical activity, and values physical activity and its contribution to a healthful lifestyle.
